Because the WaterRowers has a patented Water Flywheel it uses the same physical dynamics as rowing, its operation is equally as peaceful. Simply pull the handle and you are greeted with the sound of surging water. The noise, while not silent, is soothing to the ears and is far from intrusive on the WaterRower.
The fluid movement and sound of the WaterRower's dynamic WaterFlyWheel have been praised for lulling babies to sleep. The smooth, quiet, and unintrusive nature of our rowing machine allows for a workout not limited by time of day or proximity to others. Enjoy an indoor rowing exercise while watching television, or while another reads in the same room!
WaterRower Rowing Machines offer a pleasant rowing exercise while holding true to the dynamics of on-water rowing; burn up to 1000 calories an hour and work up to 84 percent of your muscle mass! Rowing provides an effective, high-intensity, cardio workout, while maintaining a low-impact to the joints. Workout at your own pace as the WaterFlyWheel's self-regulating resistance dynamically adjusts to each of your strokes. Unlike common ergometers, to change resistance on a WaterRower rowing machine you simply row harder!
WaterRower Working 84% of the Muscle Mass more than any other exercise, rowing recruits all major muscle groups.
WaterRower Maximize Gain, Minimize Time - rowing can burn in excess of 1000 calories per hour. Importantly rowing does so with a far lower perceived level of exertion than other aerobic exercises.
WaterRower Joint Friendly rowing moves the joints through a full range of motion and does so with minimal impact and no body weight on the joints. Making it one of the best exercises for joint pain sufferers.
WaterRower Good for the Posture Exercise physiologists unanimously agree; what we need to do more of is leg extension, hip hinge and open shoulders type exercise.
WaterRower Relaxing to the Mind Harmony evolves from a natural balance of elements.
The resistance in rowing is due to the drag of the water moving over the hull of the boat
By the laws of hydrodynamics, this resistance/drag varies to the cube of the velocity/speed.
The rule of cubes therefore dictates that a doubling of the speed of the boat will require an eight-fold increase in resistance.
Like rowing, the WaterRower's WaterFlywheel resistance is increased by increasing speed. If you want more resistance then try to go faster. The outcome is that the resistance when rowing is infinite and infinitely variable. A WaterRower from FitnessZone.com is a great choice for a cardio machine.
